Banana & Chocolate French Toast

Is Sunday, so let's forget for a little while about dieting :)... This french toast will wow you... And if you have kids I can tell you that they will love you for preparing this for them. I has a little bit of maple syrup, some cream, healthy banana, sweet chocolate and a spark of cinnamon... Simply lovely! What better than a rich home made breakfast to celebrate such a lovely day!?!

What you need ( for 2 people):

- 4 slices of bread ( make your choice. It can be white or black)
- 1 ripe banana
- 75 gr milk chocolate chopped in pieces
- 3 medium eggs
- 1 tablespoon of double cream
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 25 gr butter
- a little vanilla essence

How to make it:

1. Cut the banana in slices in a bowl and smash it with a fork. Add on top of it the chopped chocolate and mix.

2. Spread the banana and chocolate mixture on two of your bread slices and lay the other two empty slices on top of it.

3. In another bowl whip the three eggs with the double cream, the maple syrup and the vanilla essence.
4. Now, take each of the sandwiched slices of bread and carefully put them with one side in the egg mixture and then turn them on the other side, coating them in the egg. Do the same to the other sandwich too.

5. Heat a pan and add the butter to it. When is hot, add the bread sandwiches and let them cook on each side for about 1-2 minutes ( until they become golden brown and the chocolate inside them starts to melt).

6. When is done, take the toast out of the pan, cut it in half and arrange it on your serving plate. Add the cinnamon on top and, if you wish, you can add some more maple syrup ( I did add on mine :) ). Serve it hot. You can add next to it some fresh fruits like strawberries or raspberries and a bit of creme fresh... Yummm!!!! :)
