Energy-Boosting Turkey & Avocado Bruschetta

Avocado is, actually, a fruit... And is one of my favorites... I heard many people saying that they don't like it, that it tastes blunt and means nothing. For me is a wonder fruit... And I can tell you that there is more to avocado than just slicing and eating it plain as it is ( I like it that way too!!!)... This bruschetta is a wonderful example of a healthy energy-boosting snack. Is great for people who diet because avocado is filled with "good" fatty acids. Try this recipe...Its taste it's worth it and will make you feel very happy with yourself, because basically you snack in a very healthy way :)

What you need:

- one ripe avocado
- shredded turkey meat ( can be some left over meat from the braised turkey from last night :) )
- 3 small slices of bread ( I used a black bread which I made at home, but you can use any kind of bread you prefer, white bread being the not-so-healthy option)
- salt
- pepper
-a quarter of a lemon or lime
- hot chilli flakes
- olive oil ( optional)
- green salad of your choice
- 4-5 cherry tomatoes

How to make it:

1. Peel an avocado and put it into a bowl where you mash it roughly with a fork.

2. Squeeze over the avocado the quarter lemon or lime and season it with salt, pepper and the hot chilli flakes. If you wish, you can add some olive oil to it as well.

3. Mix well the avocado and now cut your bread slices ( I like mine cut unequally...It makes them look more rustic).  Spread the avocado on the slices and top them to one side with shredded turkey meat. Then cut the cherry tomatoes in quarters and add them next to the shredded turkey meat. Put salad on the side and you are done... Eat away without feeling guilty for what you are snacking on! :)
